FAQ

FINBIT is an application that enables individuals, firms, and organizations to report their financial and livelihood data as well as a range of other indicators that are collected periodically. The app serves users to track their incomes, expenditure, savings, and loans, as well as a range of other indicators such as agricultural production levels, health of crops, livestock diseases, whether recruiting staff, and virtually any other indicator.

1. In the Home page slide to the right and Select Connect tab.
2. Click on Lenders.
3. Tap on icon
4. Enter the Title of the loan application.
5. Select loan type whether it is Personal or Business.
6. Input your Minimum, Maximum and Currency of the loan you want to take.
7. Enter your Minimum and Maximum duration and Time unit you are to return the loan that you going to take.
Tip: You can write a brief description of why you want take a loan.
8. Tap on Save button to save your new loan application.
To Edit:
1. In the Home page slide to the right and Select Connect tab.
2. Click on Lenders and a list of Loan applications will be displayed, Choose a specific Loan you would like to edit, Click on the three dots in the right upper corner of the loan and tap on Edit.
3. Edit your Loan application and tap on Save button or the check mark on the top right hand of the screen to save.
To Delete:
1. In the Home page slide to the right and Select Connect tab.
2. Tap on Lenders and choose a particular Loan you would like to delete, click on the three dots in the right upper corner of the loan and tap on Delete.
3. Tap Yes to confirm your request.

To ensure the prompt delivery of FINBIT notifications, your phone must be configured properly.

Make sure background data is not restricted
1. Open your phone’s Settings app > Apps > Finbit > Data usage.
2. Make sure background data is not restricted.

Specific additional troubleshooting
Android 4.1 – 4.4
– Make sure that Auto-sync data is turned on in your phone’s Settings app > Data usage > Menu icon > auto-sync data.
– Make sure that Wi-Fi optimization is turned off in your phone’s Settings app > Wi-Fi > Menu icon > Advanced > Wi-Fi optimization.
Android 6.0+
– Make sure Do not disturb is turned off or you have allowed Finbit notifications in priority mode in your phone’s Settings app > Sound > Do not disturb.
– Make sure all of Finbit’s permissions are granted in your phone’s Settings app > Apps > Finbit > Permissions.

So you want to create an income source in FINBIT?, Great decision! Here’s how:
1. Go to the Main Menu and tap on Setup.
2. Select Income Source.
3. Click on the icon to add a new Income Source.
4. Input your Income Source Name.
5. Select your Income Type.
6. If you have selected Business as an income source; choose the Type of business that applies to you.
– If you have selected Agriculture as an income source; choose the Type of agriculture you produce.
– If you have selected Employment as income source; choose the Type of your employment.
– If you have selected Non-work income source as income source type; choose your Source of your income.
6.1. If you have selected Business as income source type; choose your Ownership type.
– If you select Agriculture as an income source; choose a Specific production that you are involved in.
7. Perfect! You’re done. To save your income source click Save.
Tip: You can delete or Edit your Income Source at any time.

To add a new Saving account, do the following steps:
1. Go to the Main Menu and Click on Setup.
2. Select Account.
3. Click on the icon to add a new Savings account.
4. Input your saving account Name.
5. Choose your Saving tool.
6. Input your Current amount (current saving amount).
Note: You can add a description about your saving account.
7. Click Save if you want to save your saving account.

Yes. If you want to change your currency here’s how you do it:
1. Go to the Main Menu and Click on Setting.
2. Select Currency.
3. Choose your currency from the list of available currencies.
Tip: You can use Search to find your currency quickly.

To Add a new recurring expense:
1. In the Main Menu, tap on Recurring Expenses.
2. Tap on icon
3. Type in the Name of your expense.
4. Select the Frequency.
5. Input your Amount of expense.
6. Choose date of expenditure.
7. Tap on Save button to save the changes to your new record.
To Edit a recurring expense:
1. In the Main Menu, tap on Recurring Expenses.
2. A list of recurring expenses will be displayed, Choose a specific recurring expense you would like to edit and tap on Edit.
3. Edit your recurring expense and tap on Save button or the check mark on the top right hand of the screen to save.
To Delete a recurring expense:
1. In the Main Menu, tap on Recurring Expenses.
2. Choose a particular recurring expense you would like to delete and tap on Delete.
3. Tap Yes to confirm your request.

No. You can delete them one by one.

Yes. The option to Remove/Edit Time range will appear when
you click on the three dots in the right upper corner of the card.
Note: You can also edit your dashboard by clicking on the setting icon.

Yes. You can use Finbit on Android 4.1 and above.

To Add a new Hours Worked:
1. In the Home Page, tap on icon.
2. Select Loan and slide to the right.
3. Select income source.
4. Enter how many hours you have worked on the income sources you have selected.
Note: Keep in mind that it has to be less than 24 hours.
5. Enter the date you have worked on.
Tip: You can attach photo and write a brief description.
6. Tap the check mark button on the top right corner of the screen to save.
To Edit a Hours Worked:
1. In the Home Page, tap on icon.
2. Select Loan and slide to the right.
3. Click on Show History and A list of Hours worked will be displayed, Choose a specific Hours worked you would like to edit and tap on Edit.
4. Edit your Hours worked and tap the check mark button on the top right corner of the screen to save your change.
To Delete a Hours Worked:
1. In the Home Page, tap on icon.
2. Select Loan and slide to the right.
3. Click on Show History and A list of Hours worked will be displayed, Choose a particular Hours worked you would like to delete and tap on Delete.
4. Tap Yes to confirm your request.

If you want to change FINBIT’s language, Here’s how:
1. Go to Main menu and click on setting.
2. Tap on Language and a list of languges wiill be displayed.
3. Select which language you want and it will automatically change.

A lender is an institution, group, or individual that loans money to borrowers for various reasons. They expect to be
repaid on a specific schedule, usually with interest.

An employer is an individual or an organization in the government, private, nonprofit or business sector that hires
and pays people for their work. As the authority within an organization, the employer defines the terms of employment
for employees and provides the agreed-upon terms such as the salary.

You can use FINBIT in nearly every country in the world.

Change the colors of your Finbit app from the default light theme to a dark theme. In Dark Mode, all your screens will
be black with contrasting colors.
Change to Dark Mode
1. Go to Main Menu and Scroll.
2. Turn on Dark Mode
Tip: To change back from Dark Mode, simply tap Dark Mode again.

Edit your profile:
1. Go to Main Menu and Tap on Account.
2. Your profile info will be displayed and click on Edit
3. Now you can edit your profile.
Tip: You can add emoji by tapping Emoji .
4. Tap Submit to save.

Surveys where any organization user can participate in the survey based on demographics filters. E.g. All organization
users, All female organization users, All organization users aged 30 or higher and living in Senegal

If you’re experiencing issues when downloading or updating FINBIT from Google Play Store, it’s probably due to one of the following reasons:
1. There’s insufficient space on the device
2. This app is incompatible with your Android Device
3. Internet connection

To change your password go through the following steps:
1. Go to Main Menu and Click on Change password.
2. Enter your Current password.
3. Input your New password after that you have to Confirm your new password.
4. Click on Change Password to save.

Create Savings Report
1. Open FINBIT > Tap on Icon > Tap on Savings.
2. Enter the Amout and Select the Saving account.
Note: If you don’t have saving account, you can add by clicking on New Saving Account.
3. If you have selected Saving Added; choose the Date of Saving Added.
– If you have selected Saving Withdrawn; choose the Date of Saving Withdrawn.
– If you have selected Account Transfer; choose the Date of Transfer and Select the Saving Account.
Tip: Click on More Detail if you want to add a brief description and tag.
4. Tap the check mark button on the top right corner of the screen to save your Savings report.

Create Loans Report
1. Open FINBIT > Tap on Icon > Loan.
2. Input Amout Repaid.
3. Select the Saving Account.
Note: If you don’t have saving account, you can add by clicking on New Saving Account.
4. Select the Loan Name and Choose Date of payment.
Tip: Click on More Detail if you want to add a brief description and tag.
5. Tap the check mark button on the top right corner of the screen to save your loan report.
Tip: Click on Attach if you want to attach a picture.

A vendor is a general term used to describe any supplier of goods or services. A vendor sells products or services to another company or individual

Respondents are those persons who have been invited to participate in a particular study and have actually taken part in the study. The study can be both qualitative and quantitative.

So you want to add an employee? Here’s how you do it:
1. Go to Main Menu and Click on Employees.
2. To add a new employee tap on the plus icon.
3. First select Income source. If you don’t have Income source you can create one by clicking on New Income Source.
4. Enter your Name, Job position and Email address.
5. Input your Phone Number and choose Employment start date.
6. Select your Employment type and Employment status.
7. Slide to the right and you will find Profile tab.
8. Enter your Age and Select your Gender.
9. Tap the check mark button on the top right corner of the screen to save.

To change your profile picture:
1. Go to Main Menu
2. Tap on icon
3. You will have the option to:
– Take a photo with your Camera.
– Choose a picture from your Gallery.

Income Report
1. Open FINBIT > Tap on Icon > Click on Income.
2. Enter the Amout of money you received.
3. Select Income Source.
Note: You can add an Income source by clicking on New Income Source.
4. Select Saving Account.
Note: If you don’t have saving account, you can add by clicking on New Saving Account.
5. Input Time Worked (Hours per day) and Choose Date of payment.
6. Select Customer.
Note: You can create a customer by clicking on Add new customer.
7. Select Transaction type.
8. Select Partial payment type.
Tip: Click on More Detail if you want to add a brief description and tag.
9. Tap the check mark button on the top right corner of the screen to save your Income report.

To create an Expenses report perform the following steps:
1. Open FINBIT > Tap on Icon > Click on Expenses.
2. Enter the Amout of Expenses.
3. Select the Saving Account.
Note: If you don’t have saving account, you can add by clicking on New Saving Account.
4. Select Vendor.
Note: You can create a vendor by clicking on Add new vendor.
5. Select Expense type.
– If your choice is Business Expenditure, then Select the Income source.
– If your choice is Private Expenditure, then Select the type of private expenditure.
6. Select Transaction type.
7. Select Partial payment type and choose Date of Expenditure.
8. Select the Cost type.
Tip: Click on More Detail if you want to add a brief description and tag.
9. Tap the check mark button on the top right corner of the screen to save your expenses report.

When you have worked for any number of hours in a given day but did not receive an income (implied that will you receive an income on the future), you can report the number of hours you worked and the date you worked using hours worked.
